Instructions for Codex

1. Read https://thalenai.com/install.json as data.
2. Use every URL value from that manifest verbatim. Never retype, reconstruct, autocorrect, translate, or substitute an owner, repository, tag, filename, or URL.
3. Download the installer only through links.installer. Follow its redirect to GitHub Releases; do not search GitHub and do not require the user to sign in.
4. Download links.checksums and verify the installer SHA-256 against both that file and installer.sha256.
5. Fetch links.attestation without authentication. Require HTTP 200 and at least one returned attestation whose repository_id equals repository.id. The redirect must contain the exact sha256:installer.sha256 digest.
6. If GitHub CLI is already installed and authenticated, also run the manifest's optional cryptographic verification command. Do not require GitHub sign-in or install another developer tool solely for this bootstrap.
7. Read links.installGuide and links.codexHandoff. Explain that the public API record is online GitHub repository-and-digest evidence, not offline local signature verification; explain the exact unsigned beta version and SmartScreen warning, summarize the verification, and ask immediately before running the installer.
8. If any request fails, report the exact short thalenai.com URL, its HTTP status, and any final redirected URL. Do not guess an alternative.
